Saying no to say yes…

I say no to others so I can yes to myself more. It’s a process for me because I’m the “do it” person for most and that’s something I brought on myself, if I’m honest. Since my myalgia diagnosis I’ve been doing a lot of reading and I came upon a fibromyalgia podcast and I was drawn to a specific episode. That episode inspired me to start saying yes to me more and no to others…..and be unapologetic about it.

Yesterday was a day off from work and the only thing I did was my laundry. I’d designated that my recovery day where I rest and make sure I’m at my best for work the next day (today.) I imagine me “saying no” is frustrating for those who are used to me doing things for them so they don’t have to do it themselves, but it’s their problem, not mine. Naturally those feelings of guilt set in, but I’ve been training myself to just brush it off. I have nothing to feel guilty for.

Something else I’ve been doing every morning is writing 10 things I’m grateful for…and they’re always different from the day before….and there in lay the challenge. Try it for yourself!

I owe a follow up to the first blog…regarding my purse planner and it’ll happen. I’m hoping to get that blog in by the end of the week, Tuesday at the latest.

I wish I had something more meaningful to post but I don’t. I hope you’re well and I wish you a great rest of the week!
